TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER

Inter-Rock

Inter-Rock combines the exceptional experience of its professionals with different training methods for reservoir characterization, Petrophysical Model Generation and Subsurface Integration. The training consists of both courses/workshops, as well as short and medium-term programs, which are developed under a wide range of modalities and flexibility.

Courses / Workshops.

The courses and workshops cover the fundamental areas of Geosciences and Reservoirs, following methodologies that allow participants to study subjects of interest and optimize their career development; These courses and workshops have a high practical component, which makes learning easier. The courses describe in detail the important and relevant points to be discussed, the key areas and duration of the topics to be developed indicating to which professionals these courses are of preferred interest.

Pilot Project Programs and Knowledge Transfer.

1.- P.E.F.: For professionals who wish to develop in Formation Evaluation, Inter-Rock has designed a program called “Program for Formation Evaluation” (PEF) (*). In this modality, the objectives of the program are combined with the client’s priorities, and the individual’s career development plans are adapted to their environment and needs (specific topics, schedules, duration, number of participants, projects to be developed, workgroups, facilities, etc).

This program has been taught in multiple occasions since it was first implemented in 2008, certifying so far, a large number of professional from important companies in the oil business in Latin America, the United States and Africa. The professionals in charge of the program have more than 20 years of experience in the modules that are part of the program, adapting these to the client’s needs. The following are some companies we have taught this program: Chevron, Repsol, PetroSA, YPF, YPFB Andina, PEMEX, Pacific Rubiales, Lumina, etc… as well as Prestigious Universities.

(*) IMPORTANT: The P.E.F. Program does not only guarantee the knowledge transfer by applying innovative topics compared to other basic courses, but it also generates a “Product” of great interest for the assets and their management, such as Petrophysical Models of selected areas. The P.E.F. Program is executed with the client’s data and it is scheduled to be performed in approximately 600 hours, which are divided into (60%) theoretical and (40%) practical.

For the applicant’s eligibility, Inter-Rock suggests some prior knowledge in the following topics:

   • Production geology (leveling planned as part of the P.E.F.)
• Rocks and Fluids Properties (basic knowledge)
• Well logs
• English (Basic level – reading)

2.- ProPER: Our Newest Program, recommended for professionals who wish to develop a career related to Reservoir Characterization and Subsurface Integration. ProPER is known as the “Pilot Project Program for Reservoir Studies” (ProPER) (*). In this modality, the program objectives are combined with the priorities of the client and professional’s career development plans are adapted to their environment and needs (specific topics, schedules, duration, number of participants, projects to be developed, workgroups, facilities, etc).

This program was implemented for the first time in 2017, involving professionals from important companies in the oil business both in Latin America and in the United States The professionals in charge of the program have more than 20 years of experience in the modules that are part of the program, adapting these to the client’s needs. The following are some companies we have taught this program: Repsol, Lewis Energy, Pacific Rubiales, YPFB Andina, Lumina Geophysical, as well as Prestigious Universities.

(*) IMPORTANT: The ProPER program does not only guarantee the transfer of knowledge by applying innovative topics compared to other basic courses, but it also generates a “Product” of high interest for the assets and their management, such as the Geological and Reservoir Models of the selected interest area that has been designated as priority for the project. It is important to emphasize that ProPER is developed with the client’s data, which undoubtedly, adds value to Client Assets. This program is scheduled to be executed in approximately 600 hours, which are divided into (60%) theoretical and (40%) practical.

For the applicant’s eligibility, Inter-Rock suggests some  prior knowledge in the following topics:

• Subsurface Geology (leveling provided as part of ProPER)
• Rocks and Fluids Properties (basic knowledge)
• Reservoir Engineering (basic knowledge)
• English (Basic level – reading)
