+Petrophysics Specialized Projects

1. Integrated Petrophysical Models. Integration of core, logs, production, geology, geophysics and reservoirs data for the generation of a Petrophysical model. Its main focus is associated with the determination of rock quality based on its flow and storage capacity.

Different upscaling processes are applied to pass from specific core data to two-dimensional models at  individual wells level and finally to three-dimensional models at reservoir level. These models, calibrated with the production history, can be taken to the mathematical simulators. Additionally, the models are characterized from the point of view of risk, generating certainty maps to support decision making.

2. Flow Units Characterization (Petrofacies/Rock Typing) from Core AnalysisIntegration of conventional and special core analysis data for the determination of rock quality depending on the interrelation between porosity, permeability and pore throats size. Identification of flow units based on flow and storage capacity; definition of vertical and horizontal transmissibility integrating information from cores and pressures.

3. Special core analysis Protocols for specific needs & solutions. Review of the existing data and definition, together with the Client, of the detailed protocols for the execution of special core analysis according to the objectives set.

4. Log Analysis. Evaluation and interpretation of well logs applying the best practices adapted to the type of reservoirs. Sensitivity analysis of the parameters to be used and definition of the most appropriate model. Once defined in key wells, the model is extrapolated to the rest of the suitable wells.

5. Core-to-Log Integration. Application of upscaling processes to integrate results of flow units characterization with logs, with the purpose of using these as extrapolation factors of the petrophysical model in the rest of the reservoir wells.

4. Reservoir diagnosis (Fast Tracks). A comprehensive review of Reservoirs, from subsurface to surface facilities, with the purpose of detecting immediate opportunities. They are generally fast-response studies (“fast tracks”) with a high component of key skills, which aim to obtain early achievements in production area, and generation of preliminary plans for reservoirs exploitation of the longer-term.
