Description: Integrated petrophysical Model of wells 7-GC-7-RN, 7-GC-8-RN, 7-GC-4-RN, RT-0001-RN y 7-JB-001-RN. The reservoirs studied correspond to fluvial-deltaic environments and lacustrine deposits. Lithologically formed by turbiditic sandstones interbedded with shale deposits in lacustrine environments. Information from conventional logs was integrated with mudlogging information, sidewall samples and capillary pressure curves from analogous fields were used to generate water saturation model independent of resistivity.

Description: Integrated Reservoir Characterization, in a 575-acre pilot area of Abilene County, Texas, with Dbase Quality Control, Geological, Petrophysical and Reservoir Engineering Model Construction. Volumetric calculations of OOIP and Reserves were performed, identifying and recommending opportunities in oil resources not yet exploited for the Palo Pinto (Sandstone) and Strawn (Calcareous Sandstones and Limestone Strata) Formations.

Description: Reservoir Characterization through the petrophysical evaluation of 60 wells and its integration with core, geology and production information. “Tight” reservoirs with alternately sequence of sandstones, shales and siltstones. A rock type model was generated based on capillary pressure, by defining Swirr ranges, flow and storage capacity and Sw estimation using J function model and Inter-Rock’s SwMinRel equation, helping to optimize the development plans of the field.

Description: Integrated Reservoir Characterization with the purpose of optimizing exploitation plans the Tertiary and Cretaceous sands (light crude and gas) in clastic and carbonaceous reservoirs. New locations and re-completion works were recommended. 3D model calibrated with seismic in Petrel. Reservoirs studied: Eocene B and C sands of the Misoa Formation, Lower Miocene sand of La Rosa Formation. The Misoa Formation is predominantly siliciclastic with little carbonate content, Cretaceous La Luna Formation and Cogollo Group (Lisure, Maraca and Apon formations); Guasare Formation, and what is referred as Basal Oligocene Sands.

Description: The reservoir was characterized through the interpretation of 200 wells, using well logs, cores, geological and production information. The integration of stratigraphic, sedimentological, structural and petrophysical models allowed the delimitation of the reservoir and the geostatistical properties distribution. A Sw model was generated from capillary pressure data that allowed the relocation of the water-oil contact. The reservoir is formed by sandstones alternating with siltstones, laminated sandstones and shales.

Description: Integrated Petrophysical Model for 57 wells with the purpose of enhancing Reservoir productivity of Lower Troncoso and Chorreado Members. In this study, a relationship was established to rank flow and storage units based on pore throat size. Water saturation model was calibrated using J Function and Inter-Rock’s SwMinRel equation. Clastic and carbonate sediments (limestone/dolomite), sand-shale sequences with calcareous cement.
Project: MONCLOVA PIRINEOS GAS, MEXICO. Petrophysical and Geological Characterization of Fractured Carbonate Reservoirs of La Virgen Formation, Pirineo Field, Sabinas Basin, Monterrey, Mexico.

Description: The carbonate reservoirs of La Virgen Formation were characterized through petrophysical evaluation of 7 wells, and integration with geological, core and PLT information. Stratigraphic cross-sections, thickness and isoproperties maps were performed. The fracture analysis from logs interpretation using Aguilera’s methodology, allowed the porosity discretization in matrix porosity vs. fracture porosity, and the identification of prospective areas. This analysis was supported by image logs analysis (fracture density), sonic full-wave, and production. Likewise, the structural interpretation was incorporated to identify areas that are more likely to be fractured. The result of the study served as support for the future field drilling plan.
Project: MEGAWEST ENERGY, USA – CANADA. Integrated “Fast Track” study in Edward County, Lula, Campanero and Holland fields, West Texas, USA.

Description: Integrated Characterization of reservoirs with the purpose of optimizing the exploitation plans of the shallow Trinity sands (heavy oils) as wells as for intermediate clastic reservoirs (gas) and deeper carbonate reservoirs (volatile crude and gas). Six locations in the Lula field (3 in lease # 1 and 3 in lease # 2) and 4 locations in the Shanklin Lease in Campanero field were recommended. Additionally, 74 maps (structural, Gross and net sand, electrofacies and isoproperties) and 49 stratigraphic cross-sections and 5 structural cross-sections were generated in this project. Description: Generation of of Petrophysical Model Integrating Petrofacies with existing models of Lithofacies / Microfacies (from cuttings and core, image logs, fractures, etc.) in 32 wells. Additionally, available PLT data was integrated and a permeability function was determined based on multiple regressions. Core data, logs, sedimentology, reservoir and production information were analyzed in La Luna, Maraca, Lisure and Apon Formations. Twenty wells (with a complete set of logs) were evaluated as part of an integrated study performed for Petrobras Energy of Venezuela.
